| Recipient Org: Description | The Carers’ Centre is a local charity supporting people who care for family and friends who need extra support day-to-day. This might be because they are elderly, have a physical disability or illness, a mental health problem or struggles with substance misuse. The Carers’ Centre aim is to improve the quality of life for carers in Bath and North East Somerset. The Carers’ Centre is a rapidly changing, innovative and exciting organisation responding to the needs of 20,000 unpaid family carers in Bath and North East Somerset and is in touch with over 4,500 carers. The Carers’ Centre now provides a suite of support services specifically for carers, as a User-Led Organisation the specific services provided are co-produced with carers utilising the strengths of carers, volunteers, trustees and staff to meet carer needs. Services include: One to one Support; Information and advice line; Counselling; Telephone Befriending and listening service; Peer Support Groups; Coping with Caring Courses; Breaks including trips, events, workshops and training; Employment and training support; Social enterprise / business advice; Family Breaks; Wellbeing navigator service supporting carers to maintain and improve their own well-being; Carers Hub in the local hospital providing information and support. |
