Recipient Org: Description Aerospace Bristol is a new museum located on the edge of the historic Filton Airfield, where every British Concorde made its maiden flight and where Concorde landed for the final time in November 2003. In development since 2013, launching to a fantastic public reception in October 2017, the ambitious new exhibition tells the remarkable story of a company founded in 1910 that grew to employ tens of thousands of people, shape its region and local communities, and transform Filton into the birthplace of Concorde and the heart of the British aerospace industry known throughout the world today. Aerospace Bristol has a strong educational remit with a learning programme that supports the National Curriculum in STEM. Exciting hands-on sessions teach basic STEM principles and allow young people to make real links between their learning in school to real life. With learning at its core and the last Concorde to fly as its stunning centrepiece, Aerospace Bristol takes visitors on an immersive and interactive journey through the decades. It is an inspirational story of ordinary people achieving extraordinary things, told by the people involved, in the place where history was made.
