Recipient Org: Description | At Brentry and Henbury Children's Centres it is our mission to empower families for life. We are passionate about giving both vulnerable children and their families the skills they require in life to achieve the best outcomes for themselves. We believe in promoting independence, self-esteem and encouraging a 'can do' attitude by effective role modelling and by building positive, healthy relationships. All of the work we do is underpinned by a strong set of principles, values and we share an ambitious vision which we have embedded in all aspects of our children’s centres provision. At the centre we provide a range of services and are often seen as a central point of support for children and their families. We provide daycare for children ages 6 months to school age. We also provide both targeted and universal groups for families, such for domestic violence, post natal depression and for parents with English as an additional language. Last year we were also successful in achieving a community development award, where we worked in partnership with Bristol City college to run a volunteer programme at the centre with an aim in giving parents confidence in getting back to work. |
