Recipient Org: Description | We are a community, sports, social enterprise and education centre in the heart of a very poor community rated the top 1% for multi-deprivation in the country. We provide post 16 college education for young people leaving school with no qualifications and many problems and we support them to gain qualifications and move into apprenticeships and work. We have various sports facilities available affordably for local people and we support the community to improve its health and well being. We provide assistance to get long term unemployed into work, we have affordable space to rent for community events, business incubator support for social enterprises and local people setting up a business, space for 40 tenant organisations also supporting our local community, healthy food and social space in our cafe, regular events addressing social isolation including tea dances, pensioners' lunches, craft groups, holiday clubs. |
