Recipient Org: Description Across the UK, one child enters the care system every 15 minutes. Home for Good is a charity advocating for vulnerable children, promoting the need of safe, secure homes through fostering and adoption. Working with churches and local authorities we aim to find a home for every child who needs one. Home for Good began responding to the need in Bristol 20 months ago. The campaign inspired thousands of local residents to consider fostering or adoption; answered questions they had about the process; helped local churches to support foster carers/adopters and worked across the South West to improve support for vulnerable children. Last year 8,500 people were reached locally through speaking events. 86 people attended fostering and adoption information evenings and 27 households were actively exploring becoming foster carers. Sadly, the number of children entering care will now increase and there have been fewer foster carers available due to shielding/health concerns. In March we gathered the region’s church and civic leaders, provided a dedicated enquiry line and held online information events that led to 70 households enquiring about becoming emergency foster carers. But we need your support to journey with these families and help more people step forward.
