Recipient Org: Description Bricks works with local, creative and social enterprise communities in Bristol to programme collaborative activities and secure the spaces our communities need to thrive long term as part of the city. We run St Annes House (SAH), a creative and community hub grown from the ambition of local residents in St Annes, Bristol and the creative community of the West of England. Our focus is on making SAH a welcoming and accessible place for all in our communities, somewhere to build connections, and be stronger together. In the past year and a half we have opened SAH and collaborated with local residents to develop the community hub, testing ideas and creating space for people to reconnect in the wake of COVID-19. This has included: St Annes Community Living Room - a welcoming space providing access to wifi, signposting, free hot drinks, free food and social activities running through winter 22/23. BRIZ - a community magazine for Brislington. Responding to local residents, we created a place to share opportunities, events and support. We currently distribute to areas defined as in the 20% most disadvantaged neighbourhoods across Brislington East and West wards, according to the Indices of Multiple Deprivation as well as key community meeting places and partners. Community Pot - £2500 fund distributed to groups and individuals across Brislington running community initiatives to take place Spring and Summer 2023. Gather St Annes - a project gathering community stories of the area, with podcast and exhibition Morning Meet Ups - intergenerational social and creative drop in sessions which have been running weekly for a year. Generous Food Future - Exploring local food initiatives with Bristol and Bath Creative RND Open days, workshops and events with local creatives and tenants from the building with over 1000 people locally attending across the year.
