Recipient Org: Description Southside aims to ensure that children, young people and adults with multiple and complex difficulties in Bath and North East Somerset access the care and support that they need, so that their families enjoy the safety, experiences and opportunities they deserve. Our trauma-informed services support whole families and victims of domestic abuse, involving: • assessment, multi-agency planning, packages of support which include home-based, therapeutically focused parenting support • IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) service to provide crisis support for victims of domestic abuse at high risk • Intake service, a central point of access for information, advice and signposting for victims of domestic abuse (all risk levels), professionals and local agencies • counselling and coaching • Family Food Hub Groups in local communities • peer support/mentoring • Young Advocates volunteering and advocacy • Building Bridges 'experts by lived experience' programme • therapeutic play for children affected by trauma and disadvantage • help to build resilience and meet their family’s basic needs • help to access services to tackle debt, substance abuse, mental health and wellbeing • help to access education and training We have deep roots in local communities and are known and trusted. Our strengths-based approach enables people with lived experience to share their stories, influence change and use their expertise and understanding to help others. Our work is complex and needs to be supported by secure systems and specialist staff and volunteers with high levels of skills, expertise, understanding and personal experience. Everyone we support is treated with mutual respect and equally valued, with adaptability to meet individual needs to ensure that our services are fully inclusive and accessible. We are working to improve the diversity of our workforces to increase reach, e.g. our Building Bridges team includes volunteers who are Black and Mixed Heritage, and Disabled.
