Recipient Org: Description We are a Charity that helps to improve the quality of health and well-being for individuals and families living with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia. We provide patient support, mentoring and befriending, advice, guidance and information, social events and outings, workshops and health promotion events, training and education, and positive activities for children and young adults. 1. On the 18th of June 2022, we had a Sickle Cell Awareness Day at our Centre on Stapleton Road, opened to the community, where we highlighted the urgent for need more Black Blood donors, also donors from other minority groups in the community. Two people signed up to be blood donors. 2. On the 25th of June 2022, we took part in the St. Pauls Community Picnic, setting up a stall. We signed up four members to the organisation, and two others to be blood donors. 3. On the 3rd of September, we took part with our stall, at the first Make a Move Childrens Sports Day, at the University of Bath, hosted by The Bristol Children's Hospital. It was a fantastic day, interacting with the children, also making aware the work that we do at OSCAR Bristol. 4. On the 8th of September, we participated in The Bristol Community Health Day, at Bristol Beacon, once again it was a privilege to showcase to the general public and the other participants, the vital work of OSCAR Bristol. We hosted a seminar at the event, with a Q & A session that benefited many people that new little about Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia. 5. We host a coffee morning on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, opened to the community. 6. We also highlight our work on the radio, Ujima and BCFM
