Recipient Org: Description | Ardagh Community Trust (ACT) provides facilities for community use, services for the local community and delivers projects and opportunities for local people to participate in volunteering and activities that improve the local area, at the Ardagh on Horfield Common. ACT's work is designed to support improved outcomes for all members of the diverse local communities that surround Horfield Common in North Bristol. ACT's work focuses on improving wellbeing, reducing social isolation and providing volunteering opportunities which support increased confidence, social connection and improvements to the natural environment. The public gardens at the Ardagh have been regenerated by the Trust since securing a Community Asset Transfer lease for the Ardagh site in 2019. The site is open daily for members of the public. Our community cafe (run through a wholly owned Social Enterprise, Horfield Common CIC) is open daily from 10am - 5pm providing a highly visible meeting place and hub for local people. The gardens and sports courts at the site are open from 8am - 9pm daily - and are opened and locked by local volunteers to ensure that they are available for as long as possible for use by the community. |
