Recipient Org: Description Age UK Bath & North East Somerset is a local independent charity with a vision to grow an age-friendly community that enables people to age well. We believe that people should be able to live with confidence, be heard, be celebrated, and have access to the right support. Each year, we support around 3,500 people in Bath & North East Somerset who face a wide variety of issues that are brought on or exacerbated by ageing. This includes loneliness, isolation, financial hardship, decline in health and wellbeing, reduced mobility, lack of information/advice and digital exclusion. Highlights from the last year include: Our Information and Advice team enabled older people to claim £1.64m in benefits they were owed. Our Befrienders engaged in 2,600 hours of conversation with lonely older people. Our Home Services team made 2,774 visits to people in their homes, offering practical help.
