Recipient Org: Description Established in 2010 to help hard to reach vulnerable households escape poverty. Everyone has the capability to be remarkable and excel in something. People are our nation’s greatest asset, and every individual has something to offer. Sometimes, challenging circumstances – life events, ill health, lack of opportunity and a wide range of other societal issues – leave people in desolate and desperate situations. Our most critical role is to positively impact self-confidence, self-worth, self-esteem and convert hopelessness into hope and belief that a healthier, happier, wealthier future is possible and worth fighting for. The Rebuilding Lives Crisis Support Programme provides Immediate Relief, Substantive Change, and Transformational Change. It is an ‘In-depth’ programme where long-term relationships are cultivated. It is Not a helpline, one-off activities, drop-in only, or signposting to other services. We build trust, and in addition to stabilising the initial crisis, provide the next stage in longer-term support, with a plan which helps people to positively move on out of poverty. Keeping electronic records and case files, noting progress against activities and being able to demonstrate the difference being made through these records. Co-production is central to the unique ‘Rebuilding Lives’ model: creating priorities, language, and approaches among all those involved. People with lived experience (clients, ex-clients; staff; and volunteers) work alongside everyone else within The Matthew Tree Project to shape every aspect of the programme: bringing a wealth and diversity of empathy and experience to our planning, practical development, and external communications. The programme brings a wide range of expertly joined-up service elements together to create a unique and personally tailored ‘full WRAP-AROUND support package’ bubble for each vulnerable household in the programme. Since 2010 the charity has helped over 13,000 people escape poverty and has distributed the food equivalent of over 2.4 million meals.
