Recipient Org: Description Pill Community Foundation is a small entirely volunteer-led charity working to improve the lives of people living in Pill, Easton-in-Gordano and Ham Green. We manage the Pill Resource Centre as a place for information, training and advice delivered in partnership with other local and regional agencies. We handle thousands of enquiries per year and if we don’t know the answer, we can find out. Our ambition is to support our community and to bring in more resources and services to the village for those people who are more isolated here. For example, we actively support our Food Hub for our most vulnerable residents. Building on our Community Wellbeing project in spring 2023, Pill Community Foundation has coordinated and facilitated the Power to Pill partnership which brings together a range of local and district-wide organisations to address local community needs and aspirations. Alongside building knowledge and understanding of community needs, has been the development of an engaged and committed resident-led multi-agency Steering Group of over 20 people. A hyper-local community development and listening exercise in 2023-24, together with local agency insights, identified three themes of primary concern to local people: • Community hubs and meeting spaces • Green spaces, play and exercise • Health and wellbeing Each now has its own sub-working group and action plan. We believe this project has expanded the vision and potential of local people, and more people are wanting to get involved. Pill Community Foundation now wants to build on this energy and impetus to build on the most popular ideas coming forward that can be addressed, with support as needed, by the community itself. We work closely with Pill & Easton-in-Gordano Parish Council and the West of England Rural Network who employ our Community Development staff on our behalf.
