Recipient Org: Description ACH is a not-for-profit, registered social housing provider operating across the Southwest and West Midlands. Established in 2008, ACH has been providing exempt supported accommodation alongside holistic integration services for the refugee and migrant communities, aiming to empower individuals and disrupt entrenched systemic inequalities. Over the last 17 years, we have supported the integration journeys of over 15,000 individuals. Circa 6,500 individuals have been housed by ACH, 12,500 people have been supported into employment, and over 1,000 entrepreneurs have received consultation for their business aspirations. In Bristol, we currently have approximately 250 bedspaces and around 800 individuals engage with our services. Our primary service users are spontaneously-arrived refugees who represent over 40 nationalities, but we also support individuals who arrived under specific resettlement schemes, including: - Afghan Resettlement Scheme / Vulnerable Person Resettlement Scheme (Syrian) - Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC / 18+ Care Leavers) - Homes for Ukraine arrivals - Hong Kong BN(O) arrivals On top of supported housing, the holistic integration services we deliver include: - Classroom-based Training (ESOL, Maths, ICT and Life in the UK) - Careers Advice and partnerships with employers to support inclusive recruitment practices - Entrepreneurship Support (focusing on sustainability) - Advocacy and Policy Influencing Work Led by lived experience, over 50 percent of our staff represent 37 global nationalities, and ACH is at the center of the community we serve. Our organizational characteristic meant that the summer riots impacted both our staff and service users directly. Advised by the police commissioner to shut down offices, ACH closed early only on the day of the second riot. Whilst other organisations chose to shut for the whole week, ACH remained open as we felt it was important that our service users had a place to come to for advice and support in these challenging times.
