Recipient Org: Description St Werburghs City Farm reaches over 840 inner-city young people annually through our targeted YP services, and inspires them to believe in themselves, learn new skills, find purpose in nature and community. This includes 'Rewild Child'- our youth camp and youth club provision that reaches Young people shape our work. Where appropriate, we involve YP on interview panels, for instance in the recruitment of a new Farm Director in 2023, ensuring YP’s perspectives are centred as we shape our future. All activities during the Rewild Child camp have been co-created with young people who attend our youth club. Youth club members have all previously attended one of our camps. During the camp there will be discussion and space for young people to feedback on the activities and make choices for activities for the following day. During discussions on the telephone we get ideas on their likes and dislikes and design activities accordingly. Attendees will all be invited to join youth club after attending camp - so will be part of the design team for next year's camp in due course! Our Advocacy Programme was an extensive strategic programme that hinged on diverse representation, importantly that of YP. 1/4 of our Advocacy Board were YP, who were paid for their time. These YP’s voices shaped the recommendations outlined in the Advocacy Report. YP’s participation in delivery and strategy has resulted in big changes. For example, young people told us they wanted the ability to camp out at our Boiling Wells site, so we undertook major landscaping to flatten an area for safe camping – now used every year for youth camps.
