Recipient Org: Description Wellspring Counselling is a local UK registered charity aiming to provide low-cost 1:1 counselling for anyone in North Somerset aged 11 and over, in a timely manner. We are unique in offering a person-centred approach to mental health support, tailoring our services to address each clients' specific needs. We currently have 25 counsellors providing around 140 counselling sessions per week, about a third of which are earmarked for young people aged 11-18. Last year we worked with 500 clients and provided over 3,900 counselling sessions. We work with clients suffering from a range of challenges such as, depression, generalised anxiety, stress, bereavement, trauma, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. We work across North Somerset in eight different venues, in Nailsea, Portishead, Clevedon, and Worle, as well as offering online counselling and at-home counselling. We also provide several group courses, such as Living Life to The Full, aimed at adults struggling with low-mood, anxiety, stress etc. This course provides participants with tools and techniques to cope with these everyday challenges and being in a group means that often participants are able to support one another. We also have an online Carers' Workshop that aims to support carers, providing them with space to share their challenges and experiences with others in a similar position. Finally, we offer a course for young people called "It's OK not to be OK", where young people get the chance to open up and learn about their emotions and feelings, often realising that others are going through the same thing. All courses are well-attended and receive excellent feedback from course leaders and participants alike.
