Recipient Org: Description We are a baby bank providing free essential clothing, equipment and toiletries to families with children under the age of 5 in BANES who are experiencing financial hardship. We offer a delivery and collection service, and families can self-refer or an agency can refer to us on a families' behalf. We work with midwives, social services, health visitors, and many other charities and services in the City to make sure the most vulnerable families have access to our service. We also support pregnant mums with maternity clothing and toiletries - as well as offering them in-person consultations to help them be as prepared as possible for their baby's arrival. Parents may be domestic abuse victims, single parents, refugees, teen/young mums, families in receipt of universal credit or disability allowance, families in temporary accommodation and so on. We also run community events for these families for them to be able to choose some of the items we have, and engage in social activities. We send our surveys yearly to all of our clients to gain feedback on our service, and their needs. We also send these to the agencies we work with. Our board of trustees and staff are made up of parents who understand the financial pressures that come with having young children - how quickly they grow and how many items they require. We also have a foster carer on our board of trustees who understands the complexity of vulnerable families and children who have had a harder start to life.
