The project supports the National Academy for Social PrescribingÂ’s (NASP) multi-agency, Thriving Communities programme. Sport England (SE) has invested in seven regional physical activity advisor posts, hosted through local trusted partners. The investment has supported sport and physical activity to be embedded within social prescribing developments and planning across each of the seven NHS regions. It has also provided additional, future opportunities, to influence local and regional support offers for link workers and affiliated healthcare professionals. The funding will extend the regional post until June 2024.
