The project will provide older and less able-bodied people with increased opportunities to be active at the Laburnum Centre in Bognor Regis. Additional equipment will be purchased and qualifications taken to increase capacity and enable the centre to reach more participants. Equipment will comprise a SciFit bike that will help wheelchair users, people with limited mobility and those recovering or preparing for surgery; 12 BH Fitness Modena indoor bikes to extend fitness and group exercise programmes; and a body composition scale with printer to help monitor participants’ weight, BMI and water content. In addition, two staff will receive Level 3 exercise referral and Level 4 obesity and diabetes management qualifications. Staff and volunteers would also receive three short courses of specialist CPD training.
