This project aims to combat the large number of young people in year 5 and 6 in Hackney that are unable to swim/ have not achieved the curriculum target. The project will take place across 9 weeks of school holidays from July 2024 – six weeks of summer holidays and three half term weeks. The locations will be the Kings Hall, Clissold and Britannia Leisure Centres, with three weeks of lessons at each. Lessons will be 30 minutes long and will take place for two hours every day. Each lesson will have a capacity of 25 children, meaning 100 children can take lessons each week.
